Burglars were spread across Orange during the past few days, stealing appliances meant for Harvey victims plus a pickup truck belonging to the Little Cypress-Mauriceville school district.
Orange police were called Saturday morning to the old Long’s Furniture Warehouse at 200 15th Street. The site is being used for storage by the Church of Christ Disaster Relief program. The burglars stole a washer, dryer and other items.
Later Saturday morning, police went to the LC-M bus barn, 8909 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, because of the stolen pickup. The truck is a white, 2007 model Ford F-250 model. It has school district decals on the side doors. Anyone seeing the truck should contact the Orange Police Department at 883-1095.
On Friday morning, Baker’s Transmission, 404 Green Avenue, reported that packages left at the store had been stolen. Police are reviewing security video recordings and looking for this red truck (below).
Items were taken Friday morning from a vehicle at Wells Fargo Bank, 400 16th Street. The theft was reported at 11:42 a.m. Another theft from a vehicle was reported Sunday at 6:57 p.m. in the 3500 block of Edgemont Drive.
At 5:44 Saturday morning, a 55-year-old woman walking her dog in the Brownwood neighborhood called to report that someone had fired shots at her. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said officers did not find any bullet or shell casings. Detectives are investigating the incident as an aggravated assault.
