Orange Police Reports

A man told Orange police he was assaulted and threatened with death Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Alexander Homes on Fourth Street. The man said another man choked him, threw him to the ground, held a knife on him and then pointed a double-barrel shotgun at him.

Police report the man was sitting in his pickup truck when a man he knows began shouting at him and saying he would beat him up.

The victim said he got out of the truck. The assailant grabbed him with both hands around the neck and began to choke him. After throwing him to the ground, the assailant punched the victim in the face and pulled out a knife. The victim said he knocked the knife away.

Three or four men came up and pulled the assailant away. The victim said the assailant went to a vehicle and came at him with a tire tool. Then the assailant put the tool back in the vehicle and walked to an apartment. That’s when he came out holding the shotgun and pointed it at the victim.

The victim said he drove to a relative’s house, who told him to call police, which he did.

Another aggravated assault was reported on Wednesday night in the 1400 block of Main Avenue. The victim, who was knocked unconscious, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by Acadian Ambulance.

Police were called at 7:17 p.m. The victim said he was inside his residence when someone knocked on a side window. The man walked outside through his back door and another man was there. They began arguing and the resident was hit in the head. He lost consciousness for a short time and then called police.


A four-wheeler was reported stolen from the backyard of a residence on DuPont Drive Tuesday. The owner told Orange police someone took it between 11 Monday night and 6:30 Tuesday morning. The vehicle is described as red with a white spider design. It has black handlebar and a black seat.

Another residential burglary was reported Wednesday at 6:19 p.m. in the 3300 block of Aster Street. Police did not report what items were stolen.

Also on Wednesday, a vehicle burglary was reported at a house in the 1200 block of West Cypress Avenue. Stereo equipment was stolen. The owner said the burglary was between 10 Tuesday night and 7 Wednesday morning. He said he may have left the vehicle unlocked.
