Jo Ann Walker Krug, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on the evening of June 30, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was 61 years old.
Jo Ann was born to Helen and Allen Walker on March 28, 1955 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. A graduate of LaGrange High School Class of 1973, Jo Ann received her nursing degree from Mc Neese State University in 1979. While both working at Conoco in Lake Charles, Jo Ann met and married Scott Krug in 1983. They raised two children in Orange, Texas, Ryan Scott, born in 1986, and Kayla Ann, born in 1989, until the family moved to Spring, Texas in 2002. Jo Ann enjoyed volunteering with Meals On Wheels, margaritas at Eva’s Mexican Restaurant, crawfish boils, deep sea fishing, shopping at HEB, cooking in her kitchen, and spending time with her family. Her love for life and tremendous sense of humor will be missed by all. She never met a stranger and was sure to make everyone aware of her presence with her boisterous laugh. Throughout her life, she was a member of the Chi Omega Phi Zeta chapter at McNeese State University, Klein Collins Band Association, and Northwest Harris County Aggie Moms’ Club.
Jo Ann is survived her husband of 32 years Scott Krug, daughter Kayla Krug, son Ryan Krug and his wife Nathalie, parents Helen and Allen Walker, sister Patricia Perry and her husband David, and brother Wayne Walker. She is preceded by her beloved chocolate Labrador, Shadeaux Krug.
Her family would like to send a special thanks to Jo Ann’s “chemo angels.” She loved you all dearly and your support was appreciated greatly.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 2, from 5-8 pm, and the funeral service will be Sunday, July 3, at 2 pm. Both will be at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest, Spring, Texas. A celebration of life will be held in her hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana in the near future.
