Services for James “Jim” Ward Brint, 75, will be held at 11:00am Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Ave, Reverend Peter Gaughan will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00am on Thursday, April 20th at Osborn Funeral Home.
Jim was born May 13, 1941 in Crossville, Illinois and passed away April 16, 2017 at Willis-Knighton Pierremont after a brief illness. Jim grew up in Bridge City, Texas, but called Shreveport his home for over the last 50 years. After retiring from Crown Dental Studio, where he worked for over 40 years, Jim enjoyed carving and making homemade fish baits. Known as “Papa” to his grandchildren, he never missed a “grandparent’s day”, sports event or school play. He loved sports, even earning his black belt in aikido. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and listening to high school football. He will truly be missed.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harrah Wesley and Dixie Lee Brint, and brother, Kurke Clinton Brint. Survivors are his wife, Myra Faye Brint, sons, Curtis Wade Brint and wife, Cathy Metzger Brint, James Wesley Brint and wife, Ashley Morehead Brint, granddaughters, Jordan Lee Brint and Taylor Ann Brint, grandson, Garrett James Brint and Gavin Seth Brint, brother, Wayne Martin Brint and wife, Phyllis, and sister, Roseanne Weeks.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Brint, Randy Brint, John Galley, Michael Catt, Villis Dowden and Eason Dowden. Honorary pallbearers will be David “Bo” Eason, Eugene Rachal, Villis “Bo” Dowden, Louis Di Stefano and Scott Martin.
The family woulf like to thank Dr. Richard E. Haynie, Dr. David S. Green, Dr. Paul M. Schuler, Louisiana Home Care and the nurses and staff on the 4th and 5th floor of Willis-Knighton Pierremont for the care they provided.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to be made to the charity of their choice.
