Harold Neal “ Tex “ Fair, 76, of Mauriceville, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at Dubuis Hospital – St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Born on December 2, 1938 in Cooper, Texas to his parents, Arvil Lee Fair and Helen Lousia (Clark) Fair, he lived in the Orange area since 1981 and he previously lived in Georgia. He worked as a process operator at the DuPont Sabine River Works Plant in Orange and he retired in 2002. Harold served his country honorably as a veteran of the United States Air Force working as a master mechanic and he was of the Baptist faith. Harold lived his life to the fullest, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing and he was a great story teller. Harold enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his beloved dog, Roxie.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth Ann Harris Fair and his sister, Dorothy “ Dottie “ Rucka. Those who will most cherish his memory are his son, James Kelly Fair and wife, Shelly of Mauriceville; his daughter, Shannon Chesson and husband, Mike of DeQuincy; his sisters, Ruth Armstreet and Sylvia Owens and husband, Johnny all of Orange; his brother, Clifford Fair of Mauriceville; his companion, Helen Vincent of Roseline, Louisiana; his six grandchildren, Lizzi Fair, Lexxi Fair, Lilli Fair, Kelsey Chesson, Kody Chesson and Kolby “ Cotton Top “ Chesson . Harold is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services to remember and honor Harold’s life will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 10, 2015 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with Reverend K. Ray McDowell, officiating. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow services were he will be laid to rest next to his wife at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. A gathering of Harold’s family and friends for a time will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Honoring Harold as pallbearers are Kelly Fair, Mike Chesson, Mark McGraw, Kody Chesson, Eddie Wolfford and Chris Wolfford. Honorary pallbearers are Kolby “ Cotton Top “ Chesson, Bo McGraw and Cooper McGraw.
