Evelyn was born on Thursday, October 30, 1930, in Rochester, New York, to Angeline (Cammilleri) and Anthony Spalma. When Evelyn was a child, her family moved to Galveston, Texas where she grew up and spent most all of her adult life. While the children were growing up, Evelyn made her living working in the purchasing department at UTMB Hospital in Galveston, Texas. After working there for over 20 years, she finally retired and moved to Orange, Texas to live closer to her children. Evelyn loved to gamble and would usually never pass up the opportunity to have fun doing just that. Whether or not Evelyn won, she still enjoyed the thrill of pulling the lever on the slot machine. Evelyn was a good hearted, God loving woman, who was of the Catholic Religion and attended Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
