Bobby L. (Lumpy) Locke of Emerald Bay passed away on March 23, 2017 at his home. He was born June 8, 1934, in Terral, OK to Arthur L. and Opal Jones Locke. The family moved to Orange, Texas, when he was a small child. He graduated from Stark High School in Orange, served in the U.S. Army and was then employed by DuPont Chemical Company in Orange. After taking early retirement from DuPont, he turned his woodworking hobby into a full-time business of cabinet making. In 1991 he and his wife moved to Emerald Bay where he continued to build furniture and cabinets on a part-time basis. He loved music and barbershop harmony was his favorite. He sang in two barbershop choruses and in two quartets. He was a member of Emerald Bay Community Church where he sang in the church choir.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Audice Colvin Locke, of Emerald Bay; two sons and their wives, Max Locke and Elaine Locke of Irving, Texas, Gary Locke and Angie Locke of Orange, Texas; four granddaughters: Harlie Sorge and Rylee Locke of Orange, Texas; Alexis Locke and Morgan Locke of Irving, Texas; sister-in-law Wilma Colvin and nephew Jerry Colvin of Katy, Texas and niece Kathy Mallory and husband Jeff of Boerne, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughters, Susan Renee Locke and Melissa Gail Locke.
A memorial service will be held on April l, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Emerald Bay Community Church with Dr. Darryle Dunks officiating.
