Barbara Thomasine Keller, 76, of Fort Ann,NY passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at her home.
Born July 4, 1939, in Orange, Texas, she was the third child of the late Thomas and Ruth (Peet) Mendoza.
Barbara graduated from Lutcher Stark High School. She was married in Texas and then moved to New York, where she started a family and lived in Fort Ann for more than 45 years. She was a loving wife and mother of four and raised her children in Fort Ann. She worked and retired from USCI/BARD after approximately 15 years of service.
Barbara was a devoted family woman who enjoyed shopping, crafting and, above all else, spending time with her children and 14 grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Paul Mendoza of Alameda, California.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Bates and her husband, Mike, of Shawboro, North Carolina, Debora Barnett, Katherine Keller and her spouse, Todd Ruggiero, of Deltona, Florida, and Victoria Keller of Wildwood, Florida; 14 grandchildren, Megan Grieco, Katelyn Bates, Troy Bates, Dalton Bates, Cole Bates, Diamond Barnett, Jade Barnett, Amethyst Barnett, Nicholas Ruggiero, Anthony Ruggiero, Makayla Keller, Jaykob Crocker, Austen Byrd and Leirin Byrd; her siblings, Mary Hair and her husband, Ernie, of Kingsland, Texas, Sally Kapinos and her husband, Stanley, of Albany, New York, and Timothy Mendoza and his wife, Katharine, of Glens Falls, New York; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be laid to rest with her parents at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange, Texas.
Friends may call for a celebration of Barbara’s life from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at her home in Fort Ann.
