man in his Navy Park house was awakened early Sunday morning by someone breaking glass on the back door. Orange police arrested a 23-year-old woman who ran out of the front door as they arrived. The resident told Officer J.E. Roy that he knew the woman from a past relationship.
Police were called to the 200 block of South Farragut Avenue at 5:16 a.m. concerning a burglary in progress. The man living at the house had heard banging on the back door and then heard the glass break. He got up and saw a woman standing inside the house.
Officer Roy said he was at the back door and saw the woman running out the front. She stopped when he ordered her to. She told the officer she had gone to the house to see a friend who called. She said she ran out when the man told her he had called 9-1-1.
Eboni Mouton of Beaumont was arrested for Class A misdemeanor criminal trespassing.
A theft and a burglary were reported to Orange police during the weekend. The theft was discovered about 6:45 p.m. Friday at house in the 1900 block of Simpson Street. A Stihl gas-powered blower was taken from a shed. Then at 1:52 a.m. Sunday, a burglary was reported in the 1000 block of Fourth Street. The resident returned home to find the back door open. A 60-inch TV, Playstation 4 and a computer, worth an estimated total of $3,100, were missing. Officer J.E. Roy discovered a broken window in the bathroom and the seat on the toilet under the window was broken.
