Orange police took a 14-year-old boy to juvenile detention Sunday after he threw a knife at an older relative. Officer Dylan Mulhollan reported he went to the 200 block of Schley at 11:42 a.m. Sunday and was met by a group of people outside telling him someone inside had knives.
An older man was inside with two knives that he gave to the officer. The man said he had come to the house because the boy’s great-grandmother asked him to help discipline the boy for stealing. The teen grabbed two kitchen knives. He threw one at the man’s back but the man was not cut because the handle hit.
Officer Mulhollan reported the youth will face charges of aggravated assault and retaliation. The teen yelled at the man “When I get out I’m going to hurt you,” the officer reported.
Neighbors Emergency Center on 16th Street called Orange police at 1:23 a.m. Sunday because a man came in with a stab wound from a pair of scissors. Detective Captain Cliff Hargrave said the man left the medical clinic before being treated and he would not cooperate with police.
Two men living at a house in the 3700 block of Kenwood Street reported that someone got inside and stole electronics while they slept. They called Orange police at 9:42 a.m. Sunday. One of the men said he woke up and discovered the front door was open. Someone had gone through his wallet and backpack. The reported a Playstation 3, iPad and DVD movies were missing.
