Michael Stephenson, Ward 4 City Councilman in Vidor, turned in his resignation, effective January 1, 2017. He’s leaving with one year left on his term.
Stephenson said, “It has been a great privilege to serve the citizens of Vidor and work with the Mayor, council, and employees for the last three and half years. The programs and policies set forth during this time have moved the city forward in many ways, all for the greater good of the community. There is still work to be done but I have all the confidence that the remaining council will continue on the path that has been started which will result in a city that the citizens are proud to call theirs. I have learned many things from my time on council which have helped me become a more informed, well rounded person and for that I am grateful.”
Stephenson is leaving because he and his wife have purchased a home outside of the Vidor city limits.
