Two men were arrested in the Stark Foundation office parking lot Sunday night. Orange police said foundation security saw the men looking into the windows of parked cars belonging to security guards. Officer N.R. Medina reported finding tools used for burglaries inside the Cadillac the men were driving.
42-year-old Luke Ivan Purgahn (right) of Orange was arrested for resisting arrest or search. 45-year-old Darrin Kyle Foreman of Orange was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after police found a prescription opioid-based drug in the glove compartment of the car.
Officer Medina said police were called about 11 p.m. to the gated parking lot behind the foundation office at 601 Green Avenue. He said when he arrived, another officer was talking to Purgahn, who was standing outside of a car. When Medina approached, Purgahn started walking to the Cadillac and would not stop.
Officer Medina said they struggled. He grabbed the man’s jacket and got him on the ground. The man then bit the officer on the forearm before other officers managed to handcuff him.
Another man was sitting inside the car. The officer said he saw a screwdriver, wire cutters and a pair of pliers in plain view in the car. He said the tools are often used to commit burglaries.
Police called a tow truck to take the Cadillac from the parking lot. When looking inside the compartment, they found two strips of prescription Saboxone. Officer Medina reported Foreman admitted the strips belonged to him and he was arrested, too.
