Narcotics officers from the Orange Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men for possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
Orange Police Sergeant J. Laughlin wrote in an affidavit of probable cause that a 2000 white Buick was stopped at 5 p.m. for not signaling a left turn from Strickland Drive onto MacArthur Drive.
The officer reported that he found the meth in the car that was driven by 29-year-old Brandon Martin. The man in the passenger seat, 35-year-old Kenneth Martin, had a smaller amount of meth on his person, according to Sergeant Laughlin. The two were taken to the Orange County Jail.
Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace David Peck set a $20,000 bond on Brandon Martin and a $10,000 bond on Kenneth Martin.
Orange police are investigating a burglary in which about $1,000 worth of fishing rods and reels was stolen. A resident in the 4400 block of Willowglen Street in the Greenway Park area called police at 8:52 p.m. Wednesday after discovering the loss from his garage. He told police the items may have been stolen a few days earlier when he left the garage door open.
