Three businesses, the Sunset Grove Country Club and two on 16th Street, had break-ins reported during the weekend but nothing was reported stolen.
Orange police went to the country club, 2900 Sunset Drive, at 1:28 a.m. when an alarm sounded. Officer S.J. Mulhollan reported the east entrance glass door had been broken. A manager was called and nothing appeared to be missing. Police are reviewing video surveillance recordings.
Later Saturday morning, about 10:30 a.m., an employee at MCT Credit Union, 5401 16th Street, called police after a customer reported the ATM had been damaged.
Then at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, an alarm sounded at Mike Lowe State Farm Insurance, 1104 16th Street. Police reported the glass part of the front door had been broken, but no one was inside.
Early Friday morning, police investigated gunshots fired in the Navy Park neighborhood. Police 911 had several calls at 1:48 a.m. reporting gunshots. Officer J.M Busby said he was flagged down by a woman who said her house in the 500 block of Decatur Street had bullets fired at it. Police were investigating a suspect the woman suggested. Officers collected bullet fragments as evidence.
