Two family-owned businesses in Orange County had burglars either Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Synical Designs Custom Body, 7689 North Highway 87 in Little Cypress, and The Swim Club, 9908 FM 105 in Orangefield, had the unwelcomed visitors.
Steffan Milligan owns Synical Designs and said someone got inside his business through the front door. He lost a number of air tools. He thinks the crook, or crooks, has probably been in the business before because they knew where the tools were. Milligan said his father has offered a $1,000 reward for the return of the tools or to catch the criminal(s).
The Swim Club owned by the Kovatch family, who also own Thayer Dance Academy, captured images through security cameras that recorded the time around 3:16 a.m. Chris Kovatch said security cameras showed two people got out of a dark-colored SUV at the nearby church. One moved a security camera but other cameras captured an image of a man with his face covered by a cloth. A TV, Gatorade and a few other small items were missing.
Anyone with information about the break-ins should contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 409-883-1026.
