Two trailers and two ATVs were stolen from three houses in the Little Cypress area during the weekend. A trailer with an ATV was taken from a driveway in Greenway Park, and in the Cypress Bayou neighborhood, a Polaris Razor was stolen from a garage and a 16-foot utility trailer taken from a yard.
It isn’t the first time this summer thieves have targeted SUVs and trailers in Orange. July 8, someone took a trailer with three ATVs from a driveway in the Silver Oaks subdivision. A trailer and SUV were also reported stolen from Hird Street off 16th Street in the area near Sunset Drive.
This past Saturday morning at 9, a resident of the 1900 block of Kirby Drive in Greenway Park reported a four-wheeler on a trailer was missing from his driveway overnight. Police report a lock was on the trailer hitch but it had been cut off.
Saturday evening, a Polaris Razor 900 was reported stolen from a garage in the 6300 block of Ashton Drive in Cypress Bayou. Also missing were two fishing poles with Lewis reels, a black battery charger and two Ridgid drills.
Sunday afternoon about 1, a 16-foot utility trailer in the yard of a house in the 6300 block of Ironwood Drive, also in Cypress Bayou, was reported missing.
Two break-ins at residences were reported during the weekend and police arrested a man in connection with one. Sunday afternoon about 5:30, a resident of the apartments on Cove Drive reported seeing someone break into a neighbor’s apartment. Police found property from one apartment in the apartment of another man and made an arrest.
Also, the owner of a house in the 600 block of Bridal Wreath in Roselawn called police about 10 Saturday morning. A bedroom set of a nightstand, queen bed, dresser and chest of drawers had been taken from the unoccupied house.
Orange police are asking for help tracking down the ATV thieves through surveillance video recordings. If anyone has a surveillance or game camera out in the Greenway Park or Cypress Bayou areas, Detective Captain Robert Enmon is asking for them to review their recordings for any signs of trucks pulling away with ATVs or trailers during Friday night through Saturday night. Businesses on the nearby thoroughfares could also help. Contact OPD at 409-883-1026 or Enmon at 409-883-1095.
