Election Day for cities, school districts and special districts is on Saturday and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters may have to go to two different sites for different elections. Box numbers, if needed, can be found on voter registration cards.
West Orange-Cove CISD Board Election
Two at-large positions are open with four candidates. The two with the most votes will get the trustee seats. Candidates are Ruth Hancock (incumbent), Kianna Edwards-Brooks, Tommy Wilson Sr., and Tricia Stroud.

West Orange-Stark Middle School, 1402 Green Avenue (Boxes 1 and 2)
North Early Learning Center, 801 Cordrey Avenue (Boxes 3, 4 and 5)
Salvation Army, 1950 N. MLK Drive (Boxes 8, 13, 14 and 15)
West Orange City Hall, 2700 Western Avenue (Boxes 11, 12 and 24)
Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD Board Election
One contested race is on the ballot. Barry Bates and Kevin Abernathy are running for Place 2, previously held by David Jones, who is not running.

Bridge City ISD Board Election
One contested race is on the ballot. Place 6 incumbent Michael C. Johnson is being challenged by Michael David McGee.

Vidor ISD Bond Election
Voters in the Vidor school district will decide “yes” or “no” on a $73.5 million bond issue to build a new high school.

Orange City Council
Two seats are up for election and in both incumbents are being challenged. Single-Member District 3 incumbent Essie Bellfield is running against Terrie T. Salter and Michael Smith. Only people who live within the district may vote for the spot. At-Large Position 6 incumbent Larry Spears Jr. is facing Veronica Woodle and Mary Ikene. All registered voters in the city may vote for the seat.

Bridge City City Council
One contested race is on the ballot. Place 1 candidates are Carl Herbert and Phillip Todaro. Incumbent Kevin Mott is not running.

Orange County Emergency Services District 4 (Mauriceville and McLewis)
ESD 4 has two propositions on the ballot and voters may reject, or approve, one or both. One proposition is to raise the property tax rate 3 cents per $100 valuation (the rate would lead to the owner of $100,000 worth of property paying $30 a year more). The other is to implement a 1.5 percent sales tax.

Note: The cities of West Orange and Pinehurst were able to cancel elections because of no contested races. The Orangefield and Deweyville school districts have board elections in November.
