At approximately 2:25pm, there was a one vehicle crash on Highway 62 in Orange County. The crash occurred approximately two (2) miles north of Highway 87. A 2004 Ford SUV was traveling southbound on Highway 62, just south of FM 105, in Orange County. For an unknown reason, the driver of the Ford drifted off the roadway to the right and struck a culvert near Gopher Industrial. After striking the culvert, the vehicle went airborne. The vehicle landed on a second culvert which caused the vehicle to flipped over and land on its left side. As emergency personnel arrived on scene, the driver was still secured by his seat belt. The driver, Jack Stout, 82, of Bridge City, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital in critical condition. Stout sustained head injuries, but was talking while being loaded into the ambulance. Stout was the only occupant in the vehicle.
