People who live near the Sabine River in Deweyville and in North Orange County may have something to celebrate this weekend. The river is expected to go below flood level for the first time in two months.
Friday morning, the National Weather Service had a reading of 24 feet at Deweyville. Flood stage is 24 feet.
The forecast is for the river to continue falling as most of the gates are closed at Toledo Bend.
