Thieves stole Christmas presents for children and other items from two houses in Orange in the past days. Police were called to Bowling Lane on Friday night and to Sixth Street in the Brownwood area on Saturday night. In both cases, the residents weren’t home and the burglars broke windows.
Officer Logan Holland said the Friday break-in was reported about 9:50 p.m. in the 3400 block of Bowling Lane. Clothes and about 20 wrapped presents were stolen. The resident did not know the value of the presents because they were gifts. The resident had been gone about nine hours.
On Saturday night, a family returned from a holiday gathering to find the house in disarray and items missing. Officer Marcus Bernard reported he went to the 2300 block of Sixth Street about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Two bicycles, including a 16-inch pink one, were taken along with wrapped gifts. In addition, three TVs, sizes 32 inches, 40 inches and 48 inches, were stolen.
Anyone with information about the burglaries should contact the Orange Police Department at 883-1026.
