Electrical power has been restored across the county after a major outage before midnight Thursday. Approximately 7900 customers in Bridge City and Orangefield were in total black-out. Other areas were also affected and power blinked off for a few seconds across Orange.
Entergy says the 138kv line tripped causing the power outage. The investigation is ongoing, including helicopters flying in the area today to check the area and the marsh.
The outages affected Chemical Row plants. The flares that burn off excess gasses were flaming, causing concern but as of this post no injuries have been reported.
