SUV gone after keys left inside
One quick step into a store wasn’t quick enough for a customer at Tractor Supply off Interstate 10. The man’s SUV was stolen. Orange police were called at 9:08 a.m. Thursday to the store. The man said he had left the keys in the SUV and the door unlocked because he was going inside for about 10 minutes. The missing vehicle is a gray 1999 Toyota 4Runner.
Rejected man threatens to burn, bomb truck stop
Police are investigating threats to bomb and burn down the Flying J truck stop at Interstate 10 and Highway 62. Orange Police Officer C.J. Foreman reported that a man called the company’s customer service line and was upset because he had applied for a job and didn’t get it. The man used his name and said “I may have to burn his store down in Orange, Texas,” according to Officer Foreman’s report. The man later called back and said he would plant a bomb. Charges had not been filed as of Friday afternoon.
Pistol stolen in burglary
A burglary was reported Thursday afternoon at the apartments at 3819 Meeks Drive. A man called Orange police to report that a Springfield 9mm, 4-inch barrel pistol was missing along with a 32-inch TV.
