A 50-year-old bicyclist was injured Wednesday night when a car hit him in the roadway near Walmart. Orange police said the bicycle did not have a white front light.
Daniel Wayne Bergeron of Orange was taken by Acadian Ambulance to Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Police described his injuries as non-incapacitating.
The collision was about 7:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Edgar Brown Drive. A 30-year-old man from Orange was driving a Chevrolet Impala and was turning from the Walmart driveway onto Edgar Brown. Police said the bicycle was attempting to cross the road and failed to yield the right of way to the Impala. The car hit the back of the bike.

A nude woman standing on MacArthur Drive early Wednesday morning was arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Patrol Officer B. Latiolais with Orange police said he saw the woman at 4:24 a.m. She said she had come from a friend’s house but did not give an answer on why she was naked. The 36-year-old woman from Orangefield was arrested for the Class C misdemeanor, which carries a maximum punishment of a $500 fine.

Orange police reported neighbors in the Charlemont subdivision shot a dog Wednesday evening. The man who shot the dog told authorities he did it in self-defense. He said the dog was dangerous and had attacked cats and other dogs in the neighborhood. The dog was shot in the 2000 block of Monterrey.
