A 46-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured early Saturday morning when he fell off the Harley-Davidson while traveling on Highway 87 South near Cypresswood Drive.
Orange police report Joseph Pikus of Orange was taken by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with incapacitating injuries. According to the accident report, he was not wearing a helmet.
Police were called about 2:40 a.m. Saturday to the 1800 block of Highway 87 South. Pikus was lying in the roadway and his motorcycle had traveled several feet before stopping and falling on a side.

A 53-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital Sunday night after she was attacked by another woman in her house. Police went to the 1100 block of Texas Street in the Cove neighborhood about 10 p.m.
Orange police report the woman had been punched in the face, bitten on the ear and on her left ring finger. When officers arrived, the woman had “large amounts of blood” on her face and clothing, police said.
The victim told police she had been taking a bath and went into her bedroom. The other woman, whose address is the same as the victim’s house, was in the bedroom.
The older woman told the younger woman twice to leave the room. When the older woman grabbed the younger woman by the arm to get her to leave, the younger woman started hitting her in the face.
26-year-old Lee Ann Morris was standing outside on the driveway when police came to the house. She was arrested for Class A misdemeanor assault. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said Morris is the niece of the victim.

A woman was arrested Sunday morning for public intoxication after she was found lying in the roadway of the 600 block of Strickland Drive. Orange police received a 9-1-1 call about the woman at 9:50 a.m. Police report she appeared intoxicated. An officer offered to let her call a sober person to take her home. However, the woman could not find anyone. Instead, she was taken to the Orange County Jail on a Class C misdemeanor public intoxication.
