Orange police officers had to use a Taser to subdue a man resisting arrest on warrants for sexual assault. Eric Dwight Geral was wanted on two motions to impose guilt for violations of felony probation from the 128th District Court on sexual assault with a victim under 17 years of age, according to District Attorney John Kimbrough.
Police went to an apartment at 111 Pine Avenue at 8:44 a.m. Sunday and noticed several broken windows with the door open. Officer Patrick McDonald reported finding the man hiding in an upstairs closet. Even though police ordered him to show his hands and get on the floor, he pushed his way out and began swinging at officers. A Taser shock gun was used to subdue him and he was taken to the Orange County Jail.
In another case of resisting arrest, Officer Patrick McDonald was bit by a suspect. Officer R.G. Ashworth reported police went to the 300 block of Schley at 3:15 Saturday afternoon because of a disturbance. They saw a man they know leaving the house. Police moved in to arrest him but he resisted. Several officers had to hold him down as he tried to kick back. Ashworth said the officer bit had a red raised area with teeth marks. 35-year-old Ronnie Toby Malbrough was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Residents living at a house in the 900 block of Fourth Street had a bad weekend. Two women called Orange police about 3:45 Friday afternoon because a man shot at the house. They said they were getting out of their car when a man they know drove up with a black revolver. He pointed the gun at the house, fired one shot and drove away. The women called 911. Police could not find any damage from the bullet.
Then on Saturday morning, police were called back to the house after a woman found three flat tires on her car after being awoken by a noise outside.
