Local entities have received sales tax checks from the Texas Comptroller’s Office covering the month of December. Based on sales tax income received during the first two months of the calendar year, collections are down compared to last year for some of the entities.
The amounts received for the month and the year to date are:
Bridge City (1.5 percent sales tax): $154,988 for the month and $272,748 for the year to date. Up 3 percent for the year to date compared to last year.
Orange (1.5 percent sales tax): $410,893 for the month and $700,582 for the year to date. Up 8.53 percent for the year to date compared to last year.
Pinehurst (1.5 percent sales tax): $65,675 for the month and $108,426 for the year to date. Down 16.33 percent for the year to date compared to last year.
Vidor (1.5 percent sales tax): $128,866 for the month and $227,848 for the year to date. Down 5.38 percent for the year to date compared to last year.
West Orange (1.25 percent sales tax): $128,486 for the month and $227,848 for the year to date. Up 1.42 percent for the year to date compared to last year.
Orange County (0.5 percent sales tax): $538,486 for the month and $865,292 for the year to date. Down 9.55 percent for the year to date compared to last year.
Orange County Emergency Services District 3 (1.5 percent sales tax): $18,421 for the month and $33,726 for the year to date. (Receipts are not comparable to last year because International Paper Mill was removed from the district and no longer pays the sales taxes.)
