Newton County Sheriffs Report
By Sheriff Billy Rowles
Nov. 6, 2017
Hope all the hunters had a great opening weekend. Moon and weather didn’t cooperate.
We assisted CPS in removing three children from a home last week. The one year old checked positive for meth. They wondered why they were removed from the home. We are getting warrants for both parents.
We have had four calls over the weekend about deer hunters shooting too close to
residence. My granddad told me a 22 caliber bullet will travel one mile. Come on, be smart and safe. Two things happen every time you pull the trigger, you can’t get the bullet back and you are responsible for everything it hits.
I can’t get the slaughter at First Baptist in Sutherland Springs off my mind. It’s my
opinion, this is a crime against all Christians. Please, please, please remember these victims and their families in your prayers. I’m speechless.
Sorry so short. Gotta Go. My brain is not working.
Thought of the week: Don’t tell God how big our storm is. Tell the storm how big our God is. Ya’ll have a good week. God Bless.
