SHERIFF’S REPORT

Very busy so let’s get with it.
We had an old hay cutter stolen off FM 1414. Owner said he didn’t know what kind it was. Anyone get a good deal on one, please contact us or Kenneth Brooks.
Several thugs broke into several hunting camps near Sheppard road. Several 4-wheelers were stolen along with trailers. We found two of the trailers. Lots of small items missing including a cross bow. Any help would be appreciated. Game camera’s around every one’s camp will help ya’ll and us also. Deputy Cathey did a good job out there. Thanks Scott.
Talking about hunting camps, anyone that teaches hunter safety classes, please give me a call. I would love to sponsor a couple classes for the kids here in Newton County. Hunting season is getting close.
Received a 911 call about a child walking down Hwy 87. The child’s aunt was babysitting and the child walked off. A good Samaritan, Dave Lewis stopped and called us. Thanks Mr. Lewis. All ended well.
Three children walked over to neighbor’s house crying and said they were hungry. They said they haven’t had anything to eat. There are people out there should not be able to have anything to do with kids.
Like to thank Mr. & Mrs. Harris for bringing by the best cookies in East Texas. They went fast and next time, don’t take so many by Kirbyville Police Department. Chief Brister don’t need them!
Gott Go. Thought for the week: God grades us on the cross, not on the curve. Yall have a great week and if we can help, Just Hollar. God Bless.
