Leadership Southeast Texas has named six local community leaders to its 2016 class. The group has been given the task to select a community service project in the area. The Orange County Team has chosen to support the Veterans Advocates of America in Vidor by helping with the completion of a 650 square foot office expansion. The VAA assists veterans in filing for their benefits as well as interceding with the Veterans Administration on medical issues. In addition the Veterans Advocates of America provides meals, wheelchairs, crutches, clothes, and other free supplies to veterans. The six member team from Orange County includes Barry Burton, Lydia Gonzales, Kristen Coyle, Beverly Satir, Janet Schepcoff, and Jerry Vandervoort. A list of needed supplies and materials for the construction project can be found on the Veterans Advocates of America’s Facebook page. Monetary donations may be made to their Facebook page.
