Things are looking brighter in Pinehurst with the announcement back in November by the HEB Grocery Company that it would be opening a 68,000 square-foot store in the old Sears location on MacArthur Drive. Harry Vine with the City of Pinehurst indicates the shopping at the Orangehurst Shopping Center also on MacArthur will be getting brighter as well.
Vine has been working with Eric Meadows the owner of the shopping center which features the Stage and Big Lots stores. Meadows arranged a contract with Beaumont Electric to rework some of the lights in the shopping center parking lot. This is expected to improve the lighting for shoppers’ security there at night. Vine thinks, “It will help the businesses and help the city in turn.”
Vine also sheds some light on the future of the popular Wienerschnitzel drive-through restaurant also just off of MacArthur Drive which closed late last year. He spoke with representatives from the Wienerschnitzel Corporation in the last week because they were calling about the fees for remodeling the facility. The restaurant site on Dal Sasso Drive and MacArthur has been taken over by the corporate office in California which plans to remodel the interior of the store. It will be a corporate store according to Vine, but it will be reopened.
At this time Vine cannot reveal what they are, however, he did state there are some new businesses coming to Pinehurst. Vine could not answer questions regarding who the businesses are or when they will be opening in Pinehurst, but he is very excited about the possibilities for this year.
