The Orange Police Department investigated two residential burglaries and the burglary of a vehicle during the past three days. A woman living in the 1300 block of First Street reported a break-in at 11:46 a.m. She told police she had been at work when her godson called her because he had discovered that the back door was open. The woman said someone had gotten inside and ransacked the house. The woman reported more than $1,600 in cash and items were taken including a .9 mm Smith and Wesson pistol, Playstation 4 and a 37-inch TV. The other burglary was at an apartment at 3333 Ridgemont Drive. The resident reported the theft at 8:29 a.m. Saturday. A microwave oven, pots, pans and food were missing. A vehicle parked in the lot of a business at 400 16th Street had money stolen. The burglary was reported at 12:48 p.m. Saturday.
