On Thursday, November 2, 2017 the Vidor Police Department arrested Kevin McClure, age 49, of Orange County. McClure is charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid with Serious Bodily Injury or Death, a Second Degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. McClure is presently incarcerated at the Orange County Correctional Facility awaiting bond.

At 9:05 pm on Friday, October 13, 2017, the Vidor Police Department Dispatch Center received a call of an auto – pedestrian accident in the 1700 block of Hwy 12 in Vidor, Texas. The caller advised that a woman was struck by a vehicle while crossing the roadway. The woman had just left a Halloween venue with her grandchildren, who witnessed the incident. Officers upon arrival found the victim in the roadway. CPR had been initiated by citizens. Officers were advised by witnesses that the vehicle left the scene after striking the victim without stopping or rendering aid. The victim, 71 year old Wanda Spoonmore of Beaumont, was transported by Acadian Ambulance Service to Christus St. Elizabeth hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
