Orange County Health Inspector James Scales found food service clean during the latter part of November with the lowest score of 13 being a 93. He gave six perfect scores, four to schools. The Brown Estate on Park Avenue in Orange and the Subway at 1545 North Main Street in Vidor were the only businesses earning 100.
The perfect school cafeterias were West Orange-Stark Middle School, West Orange-Stark High School, St. Mary’s School in Orange and Community Christian School in Orange.
Scales had four pre-opening inspections with no scores. The Early Learning Child Care on Highway 12 in Vidor was considered a pre-opening because the city of Vidor had previously inspected day care centers.
The Burger King, 605 North Main Street in Vidor, had been closed for interior and exterior remodeling. Scales made the pre-opening inspection and found no violations. In addition, he gave permission to open to the Pizza Hut, 1152 Texas Avenue in Bridge City, and the Pine Forest Fuel Deli, 4255 North Main Street in Vidor.
