No injuries were reported Monday morning in a four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 62 and FM 105. The Texas Department of Public Safety responded at 7:45 a.m. to the crash.
Sergeant Stephanie Davis said initial reports indicated that a Acura passenger vehicle was stopped at a red light in the left traffic lane of Highway 62. A Toyota passenger vehicle was stopped behind the Acura on Highway 62. A Kia passenger vehicle was stopped at the same red light in the right lane of Highway 62. The driver of a Ford Explorer failed to control speed and rear-ended both the Toyota and the Kia. The impact of the collision caused the Toyota to rear-end the Acura.
Due to the crash, the intersection of Highway 62 and FM 105 was closed for approximately 45 minutes, but the roadway has since reopened.
The driver of the Ford, 57-year-old Belinda Sharp of Bridge City, was issued a traffic citation for failure to control speed.
