Early voting will start Monday for city councils, school boards and special districts having elections May 7. Early voting will end on Tuesday, May 3.
Several entities were able to cancel elections because they had no contested races. Those are the cities of Pinehurst and West Orange, plus the Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, Vidor ISD, the Orange County Port and Navigation District and the Orange County Drainage District.
Early voting for the Orange City Council, the West Orange-Cove CISD board and the Orange County Water and Improvement District No. 2 board (West Orange) will be held at the Orange Public Library. The hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for Tuesday, when the hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. hours will also be on Monday, May 2, with another day of extend hours Tuesday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In Bridge City, the city council and school board will conduct early voting at the school district’s administration building. The hours this Monday through Friday are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Extended early voting will be May 2 and 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Early voting for the Vidor and Pine Forest city council races will be at the Vidor ISD administration building from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through May 3. Extended hours will be Tuesdays April 26 and May 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Orangefield and Deweyville school districts have elections in November.
The Republican Primary run-off, which in Orange County includes the Precinct 1 county commissioner, will be May 24 with early voting to being May 16.
