Early voting for city council seats and school board races will begin on Monday. In Orange County, the elections will include two special issues.
People in the Vidor ISD will be voting on a $73.5 million bond election to build a new high school.
Residents in the Orange County Emergency Services District No. 4, which covers the Mauriceville and McLewis area, will be voting on a property tax increase and the creation of a sales tax. Voters will be able to approve or reject one or both of the proposals.
Officials said the sales tax is 1.5 cents per dollar. The property tax rate will go up from about 3 cents per $100 valuation to 6 cents per $100 valuation.
The cities of Pinehurst and West Orange were able to cancel elections because no race drew opposition.
Early voting will run weekdays from Monday, April 24, through Tuesday, May 2. Election day is Saturday, May 6.
