Two women were injured Wednesday during a collision between three vehicles, one parked, near the Orange County Courthouse. Orange police reported an SUV ran a stop sign and hit the car in which the women were traveling.
The collision was about 1:30 p.m. in the 700 block of West Division Avenue. Police said a Ford Explorer was traveling north on Seventh Street while a Chevrolet Aveo was traveling westbound on Division. The Explorer did not stop for the traffic sign and hit the Aveo. The Aveo spun around and hit a parked 2017 Jeep Cherokee.
53-year-old Lesia Herman, the driver of the Aveo, and her passenger, 71-year-old Katherine Almaguer, were taken by Acadian Ambulance to Mid-County Medical Center in Port Arthur. Police described their injuries and non-incapacitating.
The driver of the Explorer was 40-year-old Kristi Trahan of Orange. Police reported she was given a ticket for failure to yield right-of-way.
