Afternoon Crash Stalls Traffic on Interstate 10
Traffic was stalled about 2 p.m. Thursday after a crash on Interstate 10 westbound near Highway 62. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a Dodge pickup truck was traveling westbound on the interstate in the inside lane. The driver moved to the outside lane but did not see that traffic was stopped ahead. The driver veered back into the inside lane and hit a Toyota passenger car. Neither driver was injured. 34-year-old Tommy Shipman of Conroe, who was driving the pickup, was given a citation for changing lanes when unsafe.
Interstate Barrier Repaired, Lane Opened
Texas Department of Transportation workers Thursday morning repaired the concrete barrier on Interstate 10 westbound near Adams Bayou. A TxDOT truck accident on Wednesday broke the temporary barrier that is in place during construction. The department closed the inside lane. Traffic was backed up on the interstate until both lanes were opened.
