Tuesday afternoon the Commissioners Court met in Vidor for the second time ever. The City Hall was the same venue as when the Commissioners met last March in Vidor. The meeting was once again very well attended.
All of the Court thanked Vidor Mayor Robert Viator and City Manager Mike Kunst for the invitation to hold the meeting in Vidor. Commissioner Jody Crump from Vidor expressed his thanks for the use of the Vidor City Council Chamber. Crump said the fine turnout by the Vidor citizens both last year and at Tuesday’s meeting showed their interest in county government. He appreciated what they are doing to be active in that section of the county.
County Judge Brint Carlton indicated budget restraints prevented the Commissioners Court from meeting in Vidor sooner since last March. Judge Carlton concluded Commissioners may try to hold court sessions in Vidor more frequently than once a year in the future.
