On Monday, September 18, 2017 at 3:46 p.m., Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Services Division initiated a traffic stop on a passenger car in the 1300 of Highway 1132 in Vidor, after they observed the operator failed to properly activate a turn signal while conducting a right turn and travel over the improved shoulder.
The operator of the vehicle who was identified as Christopher Duane Cartlidge, 39, was found to have two outstanding warrants issued for his arrest out of Jefferson County.
Cartlidge was taken into custody and during an inventory of his vehicle, Investigators discovered a baggie which contained 1.7 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine. A second baggie which was also located in the vehicle contained 13.8 grams of a white crystal substance also believed to be methamphetamine. In addition to the suspected methamphetamine, investigators also located an assortment of drug paraphernalia.
Cartlidge was transported to the Orange County Correctional Facility where he was booked in for his outstanding warrants as well as the 2nd degree felony charge of Possession of Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1. Cartlidge’s bond has been set at $12,000.00. The 2 warrants out of Jefferson County were for harassment and the bond is $2500.00 on each charge.
