A West Orange woman escaped injuries in a crash that left one dead Thursday on Highway 87 South. Orange Patrol Officer M.C. Bernard reported the cow she hit died.
The 33-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Impala northeast in the outside lane of the 1700 block of Highway 87 South in the vicinity of Cypresswood Drive.
Officer Bernard reported “for unknown reason(s) a small unmarked cow was in the lane of travel.” The front right side of the Impala hit the right side of the cow. “The contact resulted in damage to (the Impala) and fatal injuries to the cow,” the officer wrote.
Less than two weeks ago an SUV hit a feral hog on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The driver of the SUV was injured.
