As of Sunday 4:00pm, March 20, 2016, the Orange County and the City of Orange evacuation orders are lifted.
County services will resume Tuesday morning for normal business hours.
The flood waters are now below major flood stage.
There have been no reported injuries or fatalities from this flooding event. During the event, all calls for assistance were answered effectively and all victims were rescued safely.
The National Weather Service has indicated that the bayous and waterways within the county will continue to recede. Residents are urged to use caution when returning to residences due to the following conditions:
- Wet, slippery conditions within residences
- Beware of displaced wildlife, including reptiles, taking refuge within your home
- Use gloves while handling debris and wash hands regularly, due to bacteria and contaminants generally found in flood water
We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and continued efforts. (OCEM)
