More information is needed from developers of a proposed housing addition in Bridge City before the City Council will give its approval. Robbye Meyer with Arx Advantage made a presentation to the City Council for the second meeting in a row with her partner Cliff Bates of the Park Companies on a cell phone describing a single family affordable housing addition with 55 units.
Mayor Pro Tem David Rutledge requested examples of other housing projects done by the Park Companies in Mississippi that he and the council could review.
Rutledge said he wanted to see how other housing projects by Park looked to determine if a similar project would fit in Bridge City and be beneficial to the city. He was mainly interested in seeing completed projects not just what Park was presenting as a possible project.
Council Member Tammi Fisette also had questions on the paperwork presented to the council by Meyer and Bates. Fisette pointed out that the application request with the Texas Housing and Community Affairs said the project was a multi-family resident while the request to the City Council said it was for single family units. Fisette added that all the descriptions of the layouts for the units said subject to change. She indicated Arx and Park were only showing the small part of the picture, and she wants ask them what’s the big part.
Mayor Kirk Roccaforte suggested a workshop be held to have all the Council’s questions answered before the next regular meeting. The workshop will be Tuesday evening of next week at 6:00 in the City Hall. The next regular meeting will be February 16.
