Fifteen Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School choir students competed and were selected for the Texas Music Educators Association All Region Choir. They will be performing at the Julie Rogers Theatre on Tuesday, November 17, at 7:00 p.m. Students include Rachel Belcher, Logan Brown, Chase Courtier, Aidan Croaker, Victoria Crosson, Monica Daleo, Tyren Dews, Hannah Hodges, Ciarra Kendall, NIkki Mathis, Chandler Peveto, Julian Purgahn, Hailee Sawyer, Caitlyn Sulak, Octavia Weimer, and Alexis Wiley.
Six of the students will advance to Pre-Area auditions in December. They are Hannah Hodges, Nikki Mathis, Ciarra Kendall, Logan Brown, Chandler Peveto and Chase Courtier. According to LCM HS Choir Director, Nikki Hanson, “I am very proud of all of the students who auditioned, and I am excited to see where we go from here.”

On Saturday Oct. 3, 24 Little Cypress Junior High Choir students traveled to Baytown to audition for a spot in one of the Texas Music Educators All Region Choirs. Director Stephanie Teague reports that nine of those students earned the privilege to be called a Region Choir member or Region Honor choir member. According to Teague, “This is the highest achievement a junior high choir student can achieve. I am proud of their efforts and their accomplishment.”
Earning a place in the All Region Treble Choir are eighth graders Shelby Smith and Melanie Cupp. Representing LCJH in the Tenor/Bass Choir is seventh grader John Paul Sulak and eighth grader Declan Kendall. Members of the Region Honor Choir are eighth graders Elizabeth Johns and Jordan Riley and seventh graders Ariah Washington, Anayeli Hernandez, and Corey Villa.
