First Baptist Church of Orange celebrated the 25th anniversary of their pastor, Rev. Barry Bradley yesterday. Celebration programs and a church-wide luncheon were held to commemorate the milestone.
Mayor Jimmy Sims presented a Proclamation honoring Rev. Bradley who began his ministry at FBCO on November 1, 1990, moving from Muleshoe, Texas with his wife Jackie and sons, Jeffrey and Jonathan. The Proclamation recognized a number of achievements and outreach efforts that have occurred over the last twenty-five years at FBCO including the church being a food distribution center for the Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief (TBMDR) team and Red Cross after Hurricane Rita and again with TBMDR after Hurricane Ike.
The church moved from its downtown Green Avenue location to its new building on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in May of 2012 and has since experienced dramatic growth.
Rev. Bradley was also presented with a flag flown over the Texas Capitol building in his honor from Congressman Brian Babin’s office.
The celebration programs included personal testimonies about Rev. Bradley by his ninety-one year old mother, Marilyn and his sons.
A chest of “Thank You” notes from church members was presented to the Bradleys and a bouquet of roses was presented to Mrs. Bradley.
