Edna R. Vercher, age 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in Orange, Texas. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Mary Williams Cemetery in Orangefield.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Edna was born in Orange, Texas on March 20, 1928 to Agnes Morgan Bertrand and David Bertrand. She was a long-time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Orange and was retired from Orangefield ISD. Edna was a loving mother and her most favorite thing in the world was being a grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Agnes Bertrand and her husband, Joe Vercher , Jr. Three brothers; Johnny Bertrand, Dave Bertrand and Bruce Trahan. Three sisters; Hazel Hooper, Betty Bendo and Shirley LeVassar.
Survivors include her two sons, James W. Vercher and his wife Bridget of Pineville, LA and Joe D. Vercher Sr. of Orange, TX. One sister, Wanda Bergeron and her husband Clarence of Orange, TX. Six grandchildren; Joe Daved Vercher, Jr. of Orangefield, TX, Denise Rene` McGarvey of West Orange, TX, Clinton Vercher and his wife DeeDee of Glacier, WA, Adam Vercher and his wife Sharon of Pineville, LA, Jared Vercher and his husband Ralph DeAyala of Houston, TX and Clayton Vercher and his wife Lindsi of Groves, TX. As well as eleven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be; Clayton Vercher, Adam Vercher, Larry Doucet, Larry Shoemake, Clinton Vercher, Joe David Vercher, Jr. and Jared Vercher.
