After Liberty scored seven runs in the first two innings off of Orangefield starter Mason Gonzales, it didn’t appear it was going to be the Bobcats day. But OF had other ideas.
Down 7-2, the Bobcats began their comeback with two in the fourth, and then took the lead with six runs in the sixth to take a 10-7 lead. Johnny Armstrong (below) came in relief to hold Liberty scoreless for four innings but the Panther sticks came alive in the seventh with four runs to take an 11-10 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh Armstrong and Kent Michael singled. With two on Brett Fregia stepped up and hit his second double of the day, scoring both runs and giving Orangefield a 12-11 walk off win.
Michael and Armstrong finished with three hits each. Fregia and Blake Bradley had two hits and Gunner Jones hit a two run double.
The Bobcats finish non-district play 11-2-1. They open district Tuesday at Hamshire-Fannett.
